Asset Refurbishment Process

New Page 4

Asset type and condition determines the processing path. Asset type includes but is not limited to notebook, desktop, mobile devices, printer, or accessory. Condition is defined by age, use, cosmetics, completeness, and functionality. PlanITROI checks each asset for type and condition by using Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) PlanITROI diagnostics. If the asset is new in a factory sealed box, it is immediately sent to the last part of the asset inventory for sale. If asset is new but NOT factory sealed, it's sent through the same process as all other used assets.

  1. (ROE) Receipt of Equipment: Each asset is checked to if the asset and accessories are complete based on its configuration model number. For example; ac adapter, power cord, battery, optical drives, and any other accessories that would accompany this particular model.
  2. Battery Run Down: PlanITROI racks units and lets the asset sit charging for a minimum of six hours. Once the asset has had the proper time to charge PlanITROI performs a second battery run down test to check how long the battery life is.
  3. Functionality: A full OEM diagnostic test on each asset if performed using software required by the OEM for a complete evaluation of the asset according to model configuration specifications and performance standards. PlanITROI may also use a secondary evaluation tool based on the configuration; i.e. touch screen, wireless, etc. to test for further functionality. In this process PlanITROI inputs into its database the full configuration and any down or upgrades to the existing model number on the unit. For example, PlanITROI typically end up with assets with lots of “extras” including but not limited to; memory, hard drives, optical drives, wireless.
  4. Operating System Software: PlanITROI determines each asset’s Operating System (OS). If the OS is included, the asset will have the original manufacturer preload and full OS licenses and documentation. If the OS is not included, the asset will have a command prompt loaded and will be made ready for the client specified OS.
  5. Audit: A functionality test is performed to confirm the asset configuration to actual configuration. PlanITROI compares the specifications as stated on the bottom of asset versus the original specifications for that model number. Typically our clients send us assets upgraded beyond the original model specification. PlanITROI note all specifications in our offerings as to exactly this unit has included with it, this will show any down or upgraded additions to the original model number.
  6. Cosmetics: Each asset is evaluated for cosmetics. Some assets may have cosmetic imperfections such as scratches, dents, cracks, etc., which do not in any way affect the functionality or performance of the asset, however, PlanITROI alerts the customer to as many imperfections and grades them accordingly.
  7. Grading: PlanITROI asset grades all are 100% functional with varying degrees of cosmetics, parts, accessories and battery functionality that determines the final grade.
  8. QC, Kitting & Boxing: PlanITROI ensures the proper representation of the asset based on its grade, as this will determine the QC process, Kitting and Boxing. All graded assets are retested based on performance qualifications by model for final QC. All graded assets are kitted according to the offering, therefore ensuring uniformity. All assets are boxed based on the asset and shipping method. For boxing there are three options (individual box, 4-5 pack box, bulk pack monster box 156 per pallet). For individual assets these are put into UPS approved boxes. For bulk shipments these are boxed according to the type of equipment.
